Jamie Yuccas – The News Ninja of CBS

Jamie Yuccas is CBS News’ very own Swiss Army knife of reporting, currently based in sunny Los Angeles—where the earthquakes are frequent, the traffic is eternal, and the celebrity sightings come with side-eye and sunglasses. She joined the CBS family in August 2015 as a New York-based correspondent for CBS Newspath, bringing her Midwestern charm to the Big Apple before heading west to conquer Hollywood (or at least the news about it).

Since joining CBS, Jamie’s face has popped up on pretty much every screen where CBS News is found—TV, online, mobile, possibly even your smart fridge. If there’s a story worth chasing, she’s already halfway there with a mic in one hand and a coffee in the other.

Before CBS, Jamie held it down at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, where she was a morning anchor and general assignment reporter. Translation: she was waking up way too early and covering everything from snowstorms to political meltdowns. During her time there, she racked up two Emmy Awards, did live hits for “CBS Evening News” and “CBS Mornings,” and somehow survived Minnesota winters with her hair still intact. She even covered floods in Minot, North Dakota—which is basically like reporting from a cold, wet ghost town—and the great Minnesota government shutdown (yes, that’s a real thing).

In 2012, she added another Emmy to her collection for her coverage of Hurricane Sandy. Because, of course, when disaster strikes, Jamie shows up—probably in waterproof mascara.

Before her Emmy-hoarding days, Jamie reported in Fort Myers, Florida at WBBH-TV, where she covered U.S. Marshals in action and won a Florida Associated Press Award for it.
Her news journey began at KTTC-TV in Rochester, Minnesota, back in 2003, where she got her start—and possibly her tolerance for freezing temperatures and intense deadlines.

Jamie Yuccas Education

Yuccas graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications—because when you’re destined to be on national TV, you start with learning how to spell “Minneapolis” without Googling it. Prior to that, she survived high school in Minnesota, probably with a snow shovel in one hand and a notebook in the other.

Age & Birthday: Born to Shine

Jamie Yuccas was born on August 3, 1982, which makes her 42 years old in 2025 and fabulous in every year prior. As a Leo, she brings the fire—on-air and off.

Jamie Yuccas Nationality & Ethnicity: Midwestern Marvel

She’s as American as hotdish and Target runs. Jamie hails from Minnesota and is of White-American heritage. That Minnesota Nice attitude? Yeah, it’s real—and she’ll report your storm coverage with a smile and a stylish coat.

Height & Measurements

Jamie stands 5 feet 6 inches tall (or as we like to say, perfect camera height). She weighs about 121 lbs and rocks a figure that says, “Yes, I work out—but also yes, I eat tacos.” Blonde hair, dark brown eyes, and a signature bob that could cut glass. Iconic.

Jamie Yuccas Family Life: Raised Right

Jamie is the proud daughter of Karen Yuccas (who sounds like someone who definitely makes a killer casserole). She was raised in Minnesota, but other family deets are hush-hush. She’s private, not secretive—just mysterious enough for a Dateline intro.

Engagement & Wedding: Love, Marriage, and Headlines

Jamie was previously married to John Sheehan, a regional business manager at a hearing aid company. They tied the knot in 2007 and divorced in 2017. She’s now dating Bobby Maslar, a dreamy pilot she met while traveling—because if you’re going to find love, it might as well be at 35,000 feet.

Jamie Yuccas Baby on Board?

Rumor has it Jamie has a child with Bobby, but details are sparse—like a weather report with no wind chill. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for baby bobs and toddler trench coats.

CBS News Journey: Emmy-Winning

Jamie joined CBS News in 2015, starting in New York and now reporting from Los Angeles (because palm trees beat snowplows). She’s covered everything from the Pulse nightclub shooting to the Olympics, proving she can handle hard news and humidity. She even has three Emmys—so yes, she has more awards than most of us have mugs.

Jamie Yuccas Before CBS

Before the big leagues, Jamie was anchoring in Minneapolis at WCCO-TV and winning Emmys like they were Girl Scout badges. She also worked in Fort Myers, Florida, and Rochester, Minnesota, where she probably learned to dodge both hurricanes and awkward live interviews.

Nickelodeon Cameo: Wait, What?

Apparently, Jamie dipped a toe into the kid-friendly world of Nickelodeon with a show about climate change. Because even slime-loving 10-year-olds need to know the polar ice caps are melting.

Salary & Net Worth: Living the Dream

Jamie earns about $96,684 a year, which is a lot of money for reporting the news, but barely enough to afford rent in L.A. Her estimated net worth is $1 million, which is pretty impressive considering she started in a market where “budget” means using duct tape on camera gear.

Haircut Watch 3000

Jamie’s sleek blonde bob has its own fan base. It’s sharp, smart, and never out of place—just like Jamie. If her hair had a motto, it would be “breaking news, not a single strand.”
