Welcome to THE TROUT TREE
Where the trout is fresher than your last breakup, and the monkeys have better table manners than your uncle at Christmas dinner.
Just a stone’s throw (okay, about 100 meters) from the main Kiganjo-Nanyuki Road and a quick 3km from Nanyuki Civil Airstrip, you’ll find us nestled right on the banks of the Burguret River—and literally inside a giant sacred fig tree. Yes, we built a restaurant in a tree. Why? Because walls are overrated and treehouses are awesome.
Our trout is farm-raised in the ponds below and char-grilled to tasty perfection—so fresh it practically high-fives you on the plate. Not a fish fan? No worries—we’ve got juicy Laikipia beef and veggie options too. And on weekends, we light up the pizza oven and let the carbs do the talking. Bonus: there’s a kid’s menu to keep the little ones from staging a hunger strike.
We can seat up to 60 humans, and we share the space with three cheeky troupes of Colobus monkeys, a few sassy Tree Hyrax, and more birds than a Disney princess could sing with.
So come hungry, come curious, and maybe leave with a monkey selfie. We won’t judge.
