Daystar University is like the superhero headquarters for Christ-centered education, a non-denominational powerhouse on a mission to shape Christian servant leaders ready to transform both the church and society. Picture it: the saga began in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where Daystar emerged as Daystar Publications in 1964, setting the stage for an epic journey.
Fast forward to 1971, and Daystar made its triumphant move to Kenya, officially registering as Daystar Communications, a non-profit organization in 1973. The plot thickened with the introduction of a five-week International Institute for Christian Communication (IICC) course. In 1976, Daystar Communications leveled up, unveiling a two-year post-high school diploma program in Christian Communications. The saga continued with a gripping twist—a two-year M.A. program in Christian Communication and Christian Ministries in 1978, a collaboration with the legendary Wheaton College in Illinois, USA.
Hold onto your academic cap, because in April 1984, Daystar pulled off its grand reveal—an epic four-year B.A. degree program, joining forces with Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, USA. The institution, now flexing its academic muscles, changed its name to the mighty Daystar University College.
But wait, there's more! On September 29, 1994, Daystar received the ultimate recognition—a Charter from the Government of Kenya, ascending to the status of Daystar University. Since that defining moment, Daystar has continued to crank up the academic heat, dishing out a curriculum that's the envy of other universities and extending its reach with research and services that answer the call of society's ever-evolving needs. Daystar University: where education meets superhero-level transformation!
