Welcome to the East African School of Aviation (EASA), where we turn dreams of soaring high into reality! We're not just a school; we're the aviation circus, and our programs are more thrilling than a trapeze act!
Established in 1954, when telegraphs were cooler than emojis, EASA started by training telegraph operators. Fast forward to 1960, and we thought, "Why stop at telegraphs? Let's throw in some engineering technicians and air traffic control officers!" That's right; we like to juggle talents.
In 1963, we handed our operations to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Training Mission, changing our name to East African Common Services Organization School (EACSOS). Because why not have a name as epic as our flying ambitions?
Fasten your seatbelts—literally—because in 1985, we upgraded to our current fully equipped facility near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. No more training with imaginary planes; we've got the real deal!
We don't just fly; we fly in style. Certified as an IATA Training Centre in 2006, we've been a top-10 Africa IATA Authorized Training Centre for three consecutive years. ISO 9000-2008 certification? Check. ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Associate in 2011? Double-check.
But wait, there's more! In 2015, EASA became an ICAO Regional Training Centre of Excellence. And in 2022, we hit the jackpot—recognized as a Platinum Training Centre of Excellence by ICAO's TRAINAIR PLUS program. We're basically the aviation Oscars.
So, buckle up, because at EASA, we're not just making aviation history; we're making it soar, loop-de-loop, and dazzle with a fireworks display! Come fly with us, where the sky's the limit, but the fun is limitless!
