Welcome to Paramount Chief Kinyanjui Technical Institute (PCKTTI), the enchanted abode of knowledge and laughter right in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya.
The Grand Beginning:
Picture this: Nairobi, 1979. Jomo Kenyatta, the maestro of presidential brilliance, had a vision—one that involved the birth of Paramount Chief Kinyanjui Technical Institute. With a hearty "Let there be education!" (or something like that), the institute welcomed 1,500 students into its embrace. Probably, they even had a disco ball for extra flair.
From Chief to Collegiate:
In the illustrious year of 1987, PCKTTI donned its metaphorical collegiate robes, upgrading from a mere school to a full-fledged technical collegiate institution. Because why settle for being just a school when you can be a collegiate extravaganza?
Courses Galore:
PCKTTI doesn't just stop at the basics; oh no! They offer a buffet of courses that would make even the most indecisive student's head spin. Engineering education? Check. Business Education? Absolutely. Hospitality? Bring on the chefs! ICT? Cue the tech wizards. Mrs. Hilda Omwoyo presides over this academic circus as the Chief Principal, probably with a magic wand and a diploma-shaped hat.
TVET Approval - The Golden Seal
Accredited by TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), PCKTTI proudly flaunts its status as a technical training institution. Because in this world of academia, approval is like having a golden ticket to the chocolate factory. Or, in this case, the technology wonderland.
The Departments
- Mechanical Engineering
- Information Technology (ICT) and Information Science (for the tech sorcerers)
- Applied Science (because science is basically magic)
- Hospitality (where culinary spells are cast)
- Building and Construction Engineering (for the architects of dreams)
- Business and Entrepreneurship (because who says business can't be enchanting?)
- Civil and Architectural Engineering (for those who build castles in the air)
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering (because circuits are the modern-day incantations)
The Location:
Nestled on Kabiria Road in Riruta satellite Dagoretti South Constituency, the institute is a mere 400 meters from the Riruta satellite Police station.
A Trip Down Memory Lane:
Founded as a technical secondary school in homage to Kinyanjui wa Gathirimu, the chief extraordinaire of the era, PCKTTI's history is a tapestry woven with the threads of education and a touch of whimsy.
