The Talisman Restaurant, tucked away in a charming old house in Karen, Nairobi carries a bit of history with it—it was once home to famed wildlife photographer and author Alan Root during his younger days. What began as a cozy, family-run kitchen created by Ian and Charlie Cameron has blossomed into one of Kenya’s most beloved dining destinations.
So, you’ve heard the legends of The Talisman, the restaurant with more history than a vintage library book. Originally Alan Root’s hideout, now it’s the ultimate foodie haven. Stuart Herd and Satyan Patel took the reins in 2012, and they promised not to let the ghosts of Root down.
Today, The Talisman is the talk of the town, the country, and maybe even the animal kingdom
We’re all about making the Earth smile. You see, we’re so green that our grass is jealous. We’re 100% plastic-free – our only weakness is rubber duckies. Our garden grows veggies so fresh, they’re practically doing the salsa in the soil. Our suppliers undergo more tests than a nervous student, and we only sip from bamboo straws. Even our water bottles are recyclable, and our waste management is so fancy it wears a top hat.
Join us at The Talisman for a dining experience so delightful it’ll make your taste buds do the cha-cha. Don’t be shy; hit us up for your green gastronomic adventure
Reserve your spot, beat the waiting game, and save your valuable ‘hangry’ moments for our delicious dishes! Book ahead and skip the ‘I’m starving, I could eat my shoe’ phase.
