United States International University-Africa (aka USIU-Africa) isn’t just a mouthful—it’s a powerhouse of private education in Kenya. Proudly accredited by Kenya’s Commission for University Education (CUE) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the U.S., it’s where local meets global, and ambition meets opportunity.
Currently helmed by the accomplished Prof. Mwenda Ntarangwi, USIU-Africa is guided by a team of top-tier thinkers, doers, and education shapers.
Nestled in the serene Roysambu neighborhood, right within Kasarani, USIU-Africa is just 12 kilometers from Nairobi’s CBD—far enough for peace, close enough for city life. Need coordinates? No problem:

Born in 1969 as the Nairobi campus of a U.S.-based university from San Diego, USIU quickly became more than just a branch campus.
In 1999, it gained independence and was rebranded as USIU-Africa.
Since 2001, the original USIU merged with the California School of Professional Psychology to form Alliant International University.
Today? Over 55 nationalities study here across 38 programs, with a thriving alumni network of 25,000+ graduates worldwide.
